I'm including this podcast because of the topic, and I want to like it, but there are issues.
If I was very insecure about my credibility in this oeuvre, I'd pounce on just about any opportunity to call out the failings of others because it would allow me to virtue signal how knowledgeable I am...
Unfortunately, that is what one of the hosts of this podcast does, often multiple times in each episode. It is really off-putting, but the thing that makes her unlistenable is that coupled with her speaking very fast and slurring her words together to the point that they're at least half unintelligible. Although she's clearly a native English speaker, it's like listening to someone with a thick foreign accent. I can barely parse every few words.
I'm not averse to a unique voice, but I think ideally if you have a very particular speaking style, unusual and all that, one kindness to others would be to slow down and try to enunciate, if only because if you're doing a podcast, you ostensibly want to be understood.
After listening to many episodes, I wanted to like it because it's an offshoot of the CyberScoop news network which I really like as a news resource, but the host's sloppy delivery coupled with her attitude makes it impossible. It's a shame because the other host is fine.
As a feminist, it pains me to give such harsh feedback only about the female host, and I could deal with her enunciation struggles, as I do with the co-host of Astronomy Cast, but I'm not into how nasty she is.
